Global Youth Service Day

Global Youth Service Day is the largest youth service event in the world! Monroe County Youth Council, with support from the Youth Services Bureau of Monroe County, invites all Monroe County teens to be a part of GYSD every April.

Three Sisters Gardening with Hoosier Hills Food Bank

Monday, 4/22 4-6pm

Hoosier Hills Food Bank Garden (4140 W Vernal Pike)

Volunteer at the Hoosier Hills Food Bank Community Garden, get your hands in the dirt raising a Three Sisters garden, and learn about how growing food locally connects to addressing poverty!

Letter Writing & Book Packing with Pages to Prisoners: Thursday, 4/25 3:30-5:30pm

Monroe County Public Library (303 E Kirkwood)

Join Pages to Prisoners to support incarcerated community members' mental health, combat isolation & increase access to books! Volunteers will read letters from prisoners, package their book request, and write a letter in response!

Restorative Justice Workshop with the Community Justice and Mediation Center: Friday, 4/26 3:30-5:30pm

Ever been in conflict with a friend, parent, teacher or someone else you know? Not been sure how to support a friend who's experienced something harmful? Or struggled to hold someone accountable for their actions? Join mediators from the Community Justice and Mediation Center to learn about restorative justice principles! Gain hands on experience in mediation and navigating conflict, learn about restorative justice, and practice with your peers.
