Joining MCYC
What is the Monroe County Youth Council?
Monroe County Youth Council offers leadership and service opportunities to Monroe County high schoolers year-round. Our members are the core of the group! As a member, you have the opportunity to:​

Choose topics of focus for the Global Youth Service Day

Lead MCYC meetings

Build relationships with MCYC members from a variety of schools, grades, and backgrounds

Manage communications and design MCYC flyers, websites, and merchandise
-
Get connected with local Monroe County organizations & statewide organizations
-
Join field trips for events like Youth in the Statehouse Day
-
Receive references & list MCYC as an extracurricular
Expectations of MCYC Members

Attend and actively engage in all meetings, events, and initiatives assigned at the beginning of each term. I will also notify the Youth Prevention Specialist in advance if I am unable to attend a meeting due to an approved reason

Represent MCYC in a respectful, responsible, and professional manner at all times, both in person and online​

Work cooperatively with fellow MCYC members and community partners, respect diverse perspectives, and contribute to a positive environment. There is a zero-tolerance policy for bullying.

Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive discussion and decisions and act with honesty, integrity, and kindness in all activities

Support and promote MCYC programs, projects, and initiatives within my school and community

Allow all organizational policies, guidelines, safety protocols, and legal requirements associated with the MCYC activities
Eligibility Requirements

Must be enrolled in a Monroe County High School or Home School Equivalent

Submit a completed MCYC Member Application
